Course Description: Immediate implant placement and provisionalization in the aesthetic zone is performed to deliver expedited treatment and to optimize aesthetic outcomes. This treatment is a tremendous service to patients that requires a high level of skill, treatment planning, and case selection to ensure optimum clinical outcomes. This lecture will use case examples to illustrate key determinants of success in surgical and prosthodontic management and will outline possible treatment difficulties and their prevention.

Speaker: Dr. David Chvartszaid is the Program director of Prosthodontics MSc Specialty program at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto and the chief-of-dentistry at Baycrest Hospital (Toronto).  He is a specialist in Prosthodontics and Periodontics and holds master’s degrees in both from the University of Toronto. He is the president of the Association of Prosthodontists of Canada and a fellow of the Academy of Prosthodontics. He maintains a referral-based specialty practice in Toronto limited to Prosthodontics, Periodontics and Implant dentistry. He can be reached at david.chvartszaid@dentistry.utoronto.ca.
