Dr. Douglas Deporter has been a full-time member of the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto since 1976. He has been involved in basic and clinical research in implant dentistry for over 30 years and has published extensively on sintered porous-surfaced (SPS) dental implants. He was co-inventor of the original SPS implant (Endopore®), one of the earliest implant designs promoted for routine use in lengths of ≤7mm. He has given more than 120 invited international presentations, published 118 papers on implant related topics, contributed chapters to 10 books, published 3 books and is currently preparing a 4th book with Professor Ketabi. Dr. Deporter's current interests include peri-mucositis and its prevention/management, platelet-rich fibrin and its contribution to periodontal regeneration, and Vitamin D and its role in peri-implantitis. He is also investigating the possible use of 6mm-long, Straumann TLX implants for immediate maxillary molar replacement.

Dr Ketabi completed his undergraduate dental degree in 1990 from Dental school, University of Isfahan, Iran. His postgraduate degree including MDS and PhD in periodontics obtained in 1998 from Adelaide university, Australia. Dr Ketabi is a professor of Periodontics and former dean at the faculty of Dentistry IAU (Isfahan Branch, Iran).  He is also currently an Adjunct Professor (status Only) at faculty of dentistry University of Toronto. He was also wise president of Iranian Academy of Periodontology (2017-2020). Dr ketabi has been guest speaker in more than 100 Perio-Implant events worldwide. He has published more than 60 papers in several peer reviewed journals. Dr Ketabi has published 6 books about Perio-Implant topics in Farsi and Co-author of “Immediate Molar Implantation” in English published by Quintessence in 2023. A new book from Dr Ketabi and Professor Deporter will be in press in 2025 by Black Willey publisher entitled “Immediate implantation in Esthetic Zone and Bicuspids”.
