• File fracture, mechanism
• File fatigue and flexibility
• How to minimize procedural errors such as file fracture
• Principles of establishing and maintaining Glide path
• Reciprocation versus rotation shaping of root canals
• Root filling with Warm Vertical
• Compaction technique
• How to achieve a predictable outcome 
• Case presentation
• Hands-on experience

Educational objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the dental professional should be able to:

• Understand the science of Instrumentation: advances in file design and metallurgy
• Discuss the factors affecting file fracture
• Understand the safety of single shaping files
• Understand the advantages and limitations of reciprocating files
• Understand the objectives of root canal treatment
• Discuss the importance of glide path
• Enhance their efficiency in root canal shaping with less files
• Understand 3-dimensional root filling with Warm Vertical Compaction

Pre-requisites:

• In preparation for the hands-on course we request the participants to bring at least 3 extracted teeth, ideally an anterior, a premolar and a molar with mature roots and not so calcified
• Endodontic access cavities should have been completed
• Plastic blocks to simulate root canals will be provided
• The files and some armamentarium will be provided
