Dr. Laurie Houston graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry in 1985 and ran her own practice in Bracebridge until 2012. Currently, she associates 2 days a week in Orillia and works at an Indigenous community in the Georgian Bay area monthly. She is the Chair of the Environmental Sustainability Working Group of the ODA and a Director on the Board. Since 2012 she has been involved with international volunteer dental projects and is the Founder of CanHelp Through HealthCare (http://chthc.org/). Dr. Houston is the dental lead for Partnerships for Environmental Action by Clinicians and Communities for Healthcare Facilities (http://www.peachhealthontario.com/).
